Tidbit #96

Gargoyles were originally designed with a spout to direct roof rain water away from the sides of a building, preventing the eroding of mortar at masonry walls. A trough is cut in the back of the gargoyle and rainwater typically exits through the open mouth. HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
