If you have the option to install a secondary condensate drain to your A/C evaporative coil I highly recommend it. If the primary one becomes plugged up, your condensate tray could overflow and leak onto the heat exchanger in your furnace which could cause more than just headaches. Once the heat exchanger begins to rust, a hole may develop, and then once the heating season begins, it will be pumping carbon monoxide into your home. The only remedy at that point is a new furnace.
